Skiing and Accidents

Skiing is a major part of life. Even after enjoying this sport for such a long time, it seems like I just can’t get enough of it. If you look at it, you don’t have much to do with skiing; all you have to do is just slide on the snow. But the thrill of sliding down the slope at a very high speed is highly satisfying, especially if you are a big time adrenaline junkie. I am so famous for my passion for skiing that whenever I get my car’s tank full at diesel Coventry, the owner would ask me if I am off to skiing. Well it’s true most of the times.

One of the downside of skiing is that every time you ski, you expose yourself to very dangerous accidents that can be life threatening most of the times. Speed is something we humans like a lot, but controlling speed is very difficult. This becomes even more difficult if you are like me and can get carried away with the thrill.

It was just last year that I had a minor accident. Minor, because somehow I managed to escape. I twisted my ankle at a curve. I could have easily rolled down the slope hitting everything on the way, but thankfully I got stuck to the corner of the curve and this saved my life. My wife who was watching me from a distance thought that it was the last time she saw me alive. Even now when I remember it I feel a bit shaken. But guess what, that’s not going to stop me from skiing this year, but I am going to be a lot more careful this time.
