Quiksilver Wir Schanzen Finale

Snowdiver’s dream date arrived on the 9th of April, 2011, yet again, for executing an exciting Wir Schanzen finale. All the participants from the five tour contests gathered together at Moreboards Stubai Zoo. The air was thick with excitement as many competitors with their skins compression shorts and tops on and spectators were anxious as to who will win the Wir Schanzen crown this time around.

But the elements had something else in mind. A stiff persistent breeze was sweeping across the arena, forcing the organizers to rethink carrying on with the final. The ‘Safety –First'motto meant the safety and security of the competitors was paramount and hence it was only after much thought that the pro-line was closed and the finals were called off due the weather conditions.

Special guest Ruth High oversaw a fun-packed day, filled with snow-diving skills and riding shows in the Zoo. Tobias Michel showed great performance in the Red Bull Trick Session to wrap up his fantastic season. Free-skier Adreas Kindl took home the ticket for the Red Bull District Ride.

Eventually, the top spot holders of overall rankings from all five tour stops were crowned the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen overall winners. Tjark Fritsch (snowboard) and Valentin Jager (freeski) won the top spots in the kids'category. Nadine Hartinger (snowboard) and Sabrina Cakmakli (freeski) triumphed in the girls rankings. In the men’s section, Michael Botzenhart (snowboard) and Florin Geyer (freeski) were crowned Wir Schanzen champions of 2011. The awards ceremony followed great fun with everyone swaying to the house DJ’s beats. <
